Acrylic
Acrylic is a very useful clear plastic that resembles glass, however the properties that is has makes it superior to glass in many ways. Acrylic also comes in a large variety of colours. and finishes. The common brands of high grade Acrylic include Perspex, Policril and and Plexiglas. The two basic types of this material are extruded and cell cast. Extruded is made by carrying out a less expensive process, making it much softer and it can also stretch easier this is because in contains impurities. Cell cast is a higher quality and in many cases cell cast is a good choice for applications that require the best. Some cell cast brands are often manufactured to lesser standards which we avoid. This material can be used to make various products. These products may include things such as shower doors, bath enclosures, shelving, windows, furniture, exhibition items, items for display, signs and many other items.. This material is preferred over glass for a number of different reasons. It is stronger than glass which makes it much more resistant to impact and so a lot safer. The material is also less likely to break if you were to fall against it. Another advantage is that is insulates better than glass therefore leading to a saving being made on heating bills.
